TRU LUV's Head of Engineering will help us establish and refine our technical direction as we scale our organization and its emergent content pipelines. We've applied concepts for emergence from software systems design and AI design to our organization and woven our organizational systems and AI systems into one system. With a solid foundation of systems architecture, algorithms and data analytics, you will guide and mentor teams exploring the possibilities of our organization, our rituals and our emotionally conscious AI. You will work closely with our executive and leadership teams to actively solve problems related to the day to day management and accomplishments of TRU LUV’s technical operations. 

This role is an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a new paradigm for tech companies and human-computer interaction and to work closely with Jane McGonigal, Tom Gruber and Brie Code. 


  • Working closely with the CEO to plan, implement or iterate on our organizational and technical architecture and policies and development processes to meet our team, product and business goals
  • Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company
  • Ensuring that technological resources can scale with TRU LUV’s short- and long-term needs
  • Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services
  • Leading day-to-day technical direction and management
  • Leading sprints by planning and collaborating to maximize your team’s creativity and productivity
  • Researching and exploring technology and trends that can elevate our user experiences and the lives of our development teams
  • Working closely with the rest of the leadership team to establish impact indicators and manage the tracking and reporting of our progress
  • Collaborating with external technical advisors
  • Recruiting and onboarding new team members
  • Negotiating with other leads and directors to plan what is possible with existing or planned tech and to iterate with them on their plans and your team’s plans
  • Establishing and communicating coding pipelines, processes and style guidelines
  • Establishing and communicating documentation and other technical communication guidelines
  • Managing and mentoring our technical team and helping them develop their self-leadership, peer mentorship and technical skills
  • Creating and maintaining a diverse, transformational and emergent team culture that foster group intelligence and group resonance
  • Reporting to our CEO what has felt resonant, what has felt dissonant and what new opportunities have presented themselves 


  • A love for humanistic AI and its creation and integration into our lives
  • 3+ years experience in a technical leadership role
  • 3+ years of experience with systems architecture
  • 5+ years experience in a technical role
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C#
  • Experience with Unity, Visual Studio, Git, Xcode, iOS, Android
  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Ability to work at a strategic and planning level while supporting day-to-day details and operations
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills 
  • Experience leading in a fast-changing and growing environment
  • Experience identifying and creating new technical processes and balancing workflow needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ambition and track record to aim for a future CTO role

Our rituals are not apps nor games but a revolutionary new category of human-computer interaction built by and for love.

To imagine caring technology that intrinsically cultivates compassion and creativity in ourselves and each other, we've imagined an organization and an ecosystem that follow the same principles. 

Our team looks through lenses of social neuroscience, adult developmental psychology, depth psychology, game design, AI, ancient wisdoms and other areas of expertise across cultures and philosophies from the perspectives our own lived experiences as marginalized people. As we co-create, test and iterate we use a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis to expand our experiences and hone our intuitions. 

Our resulting model is a beautiful alternative to the gamification model and has deep implications.
